The Basics...

  • Clean out your closets! Turn your child's gently-used clothing and toys into cash. Less work than holding a yard sale and more money than selling at a consignment shop.
  • Set your own prices! You price your items and decide if you want to participate in our Half-price Sale. Our pricing guidelines may help if you aren't sure of how to price your items!
  • We handle the details! We deal with the location, advertising, publicity, display, sales staff and clean-up! You price, tag, hang and place your items on the sales floor during drop-off hours. Then, just sit back and wait for your check to arrive (about 2 weeks using our new online system and about 4 weeks using the old manual system)!
  • More choices! NVCE offers sellers three distinct sales rates-
    • 60% if you tag your own items off-site.
    • 50% if you tag your items on-site using our supplies and know-how.
    • 40% if NVCE tags your prepared items using your pre-made tags and inventory sheet. You must add a tape identifier to your items.
  • DonÕt have Web access at home? You can still consign. Call Donna at 703-727-0538 or Patricia at 703-754-9307 to register and you can either handwrite or use our pre-made tickets to tag your items.
  • Work for us and earn money towards your purchases! You earn $5.25 per hour towards your purchases at the sale and receive an early shopping time.

NVCE features new and gently-used clothing. We do not accept items with stains, tears, excess wear, etc. We will be inspecting each item that comes in for the sale, so please only bring items you would consider purchasing yourself. Please do not be offended if we do not accept some of your items, this enables NVCE to maintain its high standards for quality items.

To be a consignor...

1. All consignors must

Register online with our new online system to get a consignor number. Even if you have consigned with us before, you must register for this particular sale. You will first set up a user account, and then register for our sale. This process is very simple and will help you to create your tags quickly and easily!! It also allows you to get your check quickly after the end of the sale. If you do not have web access at home, call Donna at 703-727-0538 or Patricia at 703-754-9307.

2. Preparation

Wash, iron and hang clothing. Ensure your toys, games and puzzles are complete and in working order. Make sure all clothing items are free from stains, tears and have working zippers and buttons. The better an item looks, the better chance it has of selling!

3. Tagging

All tags MUST be printed through your user account with myconsignmentmanager.com. You can log into your account here. If you are donating unsold items, the tags must be printed on white card stock. If you are picking up your unsold item, use pastel card stock. See "Tagging" for more instructions.

All tags must be secured to clothing and soft items using a tagging gun. Do not use a quilting gun as it damages the items when the tag is removed.

Hang all clothing on hangers with the hook opening to the left (like you are looking at a question mark).

If you do not have a computer, printer or web access, we can print generic tags for your use (our preference) for a minimal cost or you can hand write your tags using our old "Tagging Template."

Please refer to our "Preparing Your Items" page for additional information on tagging your items.

  • Tagging supplies can be purchased at Major retailers, like Michaels, Staples, Office Depot Š just make sure you get long tagging threads and not quilting threads. You can also get supplies on-line at https://www.fixtures-displays.com/tagging_supplies.php and several other discount on-line retailers. NVCE will no longer be selling tagging supplies although we do have some inventory left. Call us at 703-727-0538 on Friday March 19th (when they will be unpacked) to see if we have any left.

Any item without a tag WILL NOT be sold unless you have a tape identifier on your items and we have a copy of your inventory.

5. Drop-off

All clothing items MUST be on hangers at time of drop off. Hang all clothing on hangers with the hook opening to the left (like a question mark). Please allow time for you to place your items on the sales floor at drop-off. This will go faster if items are hung correctly and sorted by gender and size. All consignors will be required to have a signed Consignor Agreement at drop-off. The hours for drop-off are: Saturday, March 20th -- 9 am - 8 pm; Sunday, March 21st -- 3 pm - 8 pm; and Monday, March 22nd -- 10 am Š 2 pm (no on-site tagging this day).

6. Consignor Preview Sale

Consignor can shop before the public at our consignor preview sale on Wednesday, March 24. You will be given a shopping time between 5 pm and 9 pm dependent on the time you drop-off your items. Consignors who drop-off their items early will receive the earliest shopping times. Consignors must consign a minimum of 20 items to be eligible for the consignor preview sale.

7. Pick-up or donating your unsold items

We CANNOT store your items after the sale. If you would like your unsold items returned to you, you MUST pick them up at the sale on either Saturday, March 27th between 5 pm and 8pm or on Sunday, March 28th between 2 pm and 4 pm. Any items not designated for donation that have not been picked up after 4 pm Sunday, March 28, become the property of NVCE and will be donated to local charities for women and children. Sorry, there are NO EXCEPTIONS. If you want to donate your unsold items, NVCE will have several 501c3 charities picking up. The charities will not accept any items that a child can sit in or on so those items must be picked up.

8. Payment

All checks will be mailed within 30 days. However, consignors using our online registration and tagging system should receive their checks within 2 weeks of the close of the sale. You will receive your check for between 40 and 60% of your items final sale price, depending on your tag preparation choices! All checks that have not been deposited after 60 days will be voided and consignors forfeit these funds.
